In order to redefine and improve the way to enjoy your music listening habits, Youtube has just announced their subscription service „Music Key“. This service has been talked about for months now and the news comes in at the same time with Youtube finalizing a music licensing deal with Merlin, the umbrella group representing over 2000 indie labels around the world, making it another step forward for Youtube’s music streaming service.

Now what’s „Music Key“ about? It allows music listeners to enjoy playing music without ads, keep playing music videos even if you lock the screen or start using another app and play music even if you’re not connected to the Internet. It offers access to Google Play Music’s entire library as well as providing background playback capabilities and offline viewing. You can currently sign up for the Music Key’s limited beta service for $7.99 a month before it reaches its standard rate of $9.99 per month.
