There’s not much output from Tiesto since his last single “Red Lights” (apart from his alias TST), but it seems the new single is right here. And it’s not what you expected, especially if you’re a fan of the “old” Tiesto…
The song is called “Wasted” and features Matthew Koma on songwriting- and singing duties. It is definitely a summer tune, but more for radio stations than serious club plays. This is a direction many Dance stars have taken since Avicii’s courageous step with “Wake Me Up”. “Wasted” comes in very downtempo and vocal-based with a nice and catchy melody to go for. For all of you who are not quite satisfied with this track, Tiesto had this to say via Facebook:
“For many years, I’ve wanted to make a song that straddles the line between indie/alternative rock and dance music. So when I met Matthew Koma and we started working on this song, I knew this was the right time. It may sound a little different from what you were maybe expecting to hear but I’ve always made the music I wanted to make. I’m incredibly proud and excited about this track! Expect the unexpected.”
And don’t worry: remixes are already on the way. The first one comes from Ummet Ozcan and it is what you expected. Check it out:
