Reports confirm that two males, both age 19, passed away after overdosing at Basshunter’s show at Pryzm Nightclub in Plymouth, UK.

BBC news confirms that Aaron Reilly and Joshua Brock were transported to Derriford Hospital before passing away shortly after. Authorities report that the two men overdosed on an unnamed substance with the preconceived notion that they were taking MDMA. It is not yet clear what substance the two men may have ingested, and police have taken an 18 year old man into custody for questioning.

FEYNMAN crosses into experimental urban bliss with ILLUSIONS II [EP Review]

Array ( [post_title] => FEYNMAN crosses into experimental urban bliss with ILLUSIONS II [EP Review] [post_content] =>

A longtime protagonist of electronic music’s more experimental avenues, FEYNMAN has long been a tough artist to pin down to just one sound or genre. For ILLUSIONS II, the long awaited follow-up to the EP’s series debut, the Frenchman sounds no less ready to hand in his chips to the predictable palate, instead of testing the waters with a rich and conceptual stake at a formay usually reserved for one sole single and a handful of B-sides.

The EP has just one outright vocal moment is no small feat. Accompanied by beloved Madlib collaborator and overall American rap legend Freddie Gibbs, “The Wave” brings a hip-hop infused spin on the dark and moody undertones of the EP. Whilst “ITHACA” spins in the vein of more minimal Kaytranada and DJ Shadow influences, “YourNotDead” sees in more dance floor favoring vibes, like a short and sweet not to some of Bromance’s fine moments. The body of work’s additional tracks feel more like interludes and bridges between the EP’s core themes, but at seven tracks long, this conceptual short-player fits a lot of different tones, textures, and emotions into play.

It’s reassuring to see and hear artists with the compassion for their craft to hone such experimental short players, but this is just the kind of wizardry we have come to expect from FEYNMAN over the past several years.

R3HAB & Krewella – Ain’t That Why

Array ( [post_title] => R3HAB & Krewella – Ain’t That Why [post_content] =>

R3HAB‘s transition from electro house hopeful into full-blown crossover king has come to the tune of hundreds of millions of streams and a notable domination of the digital streaming world. Having spent the time since his debut album TROUBLE fuelling the market with stellar remixes for the likes of Rita Ora and Sigrid, the latest single from his own R3HAB Music imprint follows-up on recent KSHMR club collab “Islands,” landing alongside diligent US dance duo Krewella. A fusion of blissful future bass infused pop, the Krewella sister’s distinctive vocal chops flow seamlessly alongside the tracks bouncy and well tempered production values. It’s the kind of coherent and carefully balanced electronic pop we’ve come to expect from R3HAB – an artist who seems incapable of doing anything by the half measure here in 2017.

Loco Dice announces new hip-hop and grime side project FKD

Array ( [post_title] => Loco Dice announces new hip-hop and grime side project FKD [post_content] =>

Loco Dice is one of dance music’s most mercurial DJs.

The house and techno maven moves across a multitude of genres with a keen sense for how sounds reflect in their respective atmospheres. After spending what seems like a lifetime honing in on his craft, moving in and out of styles, Dice has announced the creation of his very first side project, which pushes the bounds of his expansive style even further.

Having already teamed up with the revered grime artist Giggs in the past, Dice too is making a move to the genre. His cinematic view of music has taken him to his new venture, a hip-hop side project called FKD, which he’s described as “a journey from hip hop to electronic music.” Instagram he continued on Instagram with the note that FKD “is a new platform to do something different, something new.”

FKD is a new collaborative group created by Dice and longtime friends Frizzo and Kobe Hodgson. The news comes from FKD’s Instagram teasers and their work in London with grime artists YGG and Jacques Fugee.

Considering Dice’s past and grime’s limelight ascension in mainstream hip-hop, the project comes as little surprise. FKD will release its first EP on December 15.

Hi everybody! Today I want to share with you FKD, my first musical side project. FKD was created with @itsFrizzo and @KobeHodgsonofc, my long time friends and collaborators from my early hip hop days. If you follow me and if you’re familiar with my music, you know that my roots are in hip hop. FKD is a journey from hip hop to electronic music. Stay tuned and connected with @FKDofc for more news and sounds that will follow tomorrow and in the next days. Peace, D
