REPORT: Bassnectar Rumored As First Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas Headliner [DETAILS]

Array ( [post_title] => REPORT: Bassnectar Rumored As First Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas Headliner [DETAILS] [post_content] =>

Bassnectar is about to blow the roof off Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas in 2018!

That’s figuratively speaking, of course, because we all know the vibrant music festival takes place under the electric sky — but best believe its going to be wild.

The Festive Owl has allegedly confirmed Bassnectar as the first headliner, with the rest of the initial lineup apparently coming Valentine’s Day. (2017’s full lineup didn’t come until April, but with EDC going down in May this year, the possibility of a February reveal isn’t impossible.) The bass music producer last played EDCLV’s cosmicMEADOW in 2015, and just think how much his live shows have developed since then.

Read our review of Bassnectar’s 2015 set here

Bassnectar’s new material matched with the top-of-the-line visuals and the updated stage designs EDCLV is excited to premiere are all sure signs this headlining show will be nothing less than pure insanity.

Bassheads might want to get those Camp EDC passes on lock now!

If we were to put our trust in anyone to remix something as beautiful as “We’re All We Need” by Above & Beyond — well, it’d have to be Vanic.

His latest and unexpected release is a direct homage to the group and an inspired take on his absolute favorite song. “We’re All We Need” in its original form still remains one of A&B’s most cherished tracks, but this fresh new take is sure to pull on your heart strings in all the right places. Layers of synths, intensified piano, and bold drums build into a release into a style that can only be described as Vanic.

Above & Beyond have always been an inspiration to me. Nothing will ever beat the original but I did my best to breathe a new / Vanic take into this song that’s been my favourite for a very, VERY long time. They have a new album coming out in a few days so make sure you check it out.

More on Above & Beyond’s new album and tour here, but in the meantime enjoy this simply stunning remix from Vanic!

Whipped Cream Goes Darker Than Ever with New Track “Drag Me”

Array ( [post_title] => Whipped Cream Goes Darker Than Ever with New Track “Drag Me” [post_content] =>

Have you ever gotten stuck in something you’re so passionate about that you don’t even care that it’s unhealthy for you? That’s what “Drag Me” means to Whipped Cream, as she writes from her darkest yet most enlightened perspective yet.

With this jolting release the Vancouver/LA-based producer introduces the first of what’s to come with a new storytelling-focused genre, which in her words is called “UR EXPERIENCE.” It’s all about the listener’s unique encounter with the music and is totally up for interpretation.

Whipped Cream describes “Drag Me” as “a cry for help,” but you might hear it differently.

To me, “Drag Me” is venomous and unrelenting, but there’s a vulnerability to be heard. The track gives me the emotion of lashing out at someone — maybe even the person trying to help as I spiral out of control. Softer moments of hopeful peace counter the harsh, repetitive nature of the “drop,” both of which I find comfort in.

So what does “Drag Me” mean to you?

Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but — I hope — into a better shape. -Charles Dickens

Electronic Artist Claims Drake Stole Artwork for “Scary Hours”

Drake is making headlines for more than dropping two new surprise singles –“God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.” He’s actually coming under fire for the artwork that came with the 2-track mini release.

Electronic artist Rabit took to social media last night to point out how scary close Drake’s album art for Scary Hours looks to his own 2015 Communion Tour poster. It’s pretty hard to deny, as the font styles and faded black background are spot on.

The artist behind the design Collin Fletcher is “always having his style stolen,” according to Rabit. “This is a story that too many artists, musicians, and designers identify with. Hopefully this results in a larger conversation about popular culture’s relationship to underground artists.”

OVO, the guy behind Drake’s Scary Hours artwork, says the tour poster was not sourced directly. However, he admits it was brought up as a reference during the production stages.

No official statement yet from Drake’s camp.
