Cake-throwing entertainer and DJ Steve Aoki has just released his album “Neon Future”. In an interview with Mixmag to promote the album, the US artist revealed that he’s starting a Deep House project under a new alias. His inspiration for it:

“That kind of environment, [Cafe Mambo in Ibiza], the banging stuff just doesn’t work, so I was playing house: Maceo Plex, Ten Walls, Tiga’s collaborations, Duke Dumont and some more underground stuff.“

With his highly energized shows and singles in the bag, the question is if his fanbase will accept a Deep-playing and –presenting Steve Aoki. But this should not be a problem, quoting:

“I won’t release it under Steve Aoki, it’ll be under another name. I don’t want to confuse people who associate me with my usual sound, and I want it to be judged on its own merits. We’ll see how it does.”

So be prepared for some deep and groovy stuff coming from the US superstar. More infos soon…
