Pioneer has established as the leading provider of high quality DJ equipment. After their announcement of the new turntable last month, the company didn’t take much time to introduce another new member to the family, the DDJ-SX2. While on the surface still looking like the original SX controller, the device includes several new and advanced features: multi-colored performance pads, a new function called “Serato Flip” that can recall up to six recorded hot cue combinations and replay them on a loop. Functions such as hot cue, roll, slicer and sampler can be easily identified on the performance pads given their distinctive bright colors. The pads also contain touch sensors that vary the volume of each sound depending on the strength of the tap. The jog wheels have zero lag time and demonstrate very accurate scratching. The controller showcases an independent 4-channel mixer that can actually perform as a standalone mixer that is compatible with external turntables.

Pioneer DDJ-SX2 Performance DJ Controller will be available in October 2014 and the price is estimated to be around EUR 1000,–.
