The legal battle between Disney and Deadmau5-artist Joel Zimmerman goes on. The Mouse-company has responded to the cease and desist letter regarding a non-authorized use of Deadmau5’ song „Ghost ‘N’ Stuff“ in one of their Mickey Mouse videos.
Disney told Rolling Stone magazine that “Disney vigorously protects its trademark rights, and we oppose Mr. Zimmerman’s attempt to register a logo that is nearly identical to our trademarks for his commercial exploitation. (…) Our opposition is not about the use of the Deadmau5 costume. The music was appropriately licensed, and there is no merit to his statement.”

In the meantime: watch this podcast show that was recorded 2 years ago. At 28:30, Deadmau5 actually comments on the subject: „Disney and me are cool now!“. Looks like a lot happened in the past 48 months…
