Awards season seems not to be entirely over as Billboard just announced the winners for their 2014 awards. Of course they also presented their choices for „Top Dance/Electronic Artist“, „Top Dance/Electronic Album“ and „Top Dance/Electronic Song“. The winners will not come as surprises for you:

Top Dance/Electronic Artist
Daft Punk
Calvin Harris
Lady Gaga

Top Dance/Electronic Album
Avicii – „True“
Daft Punk – „Random Access Memories“
Lady Gaga – „ARTPOP“
Lindsey Stirling – „Lindsey Stirling“
Zedd – „Clarity“

Top Dance/Electronic Song
Avicii – „Wake Me Up“
Daft Punk & Pharrell Williams – „Get Lucky“
Icona Pop & Chali XCX – „I Love It“
Lady Gaga – „Applause“
Zedd & Foxxes – „Clarity“

So nothing special here as all winners were awarded several times before for these tracks or longplayers. What really strikes me is that some of the nominated singles / albums where already released in 2012 (“Clarity” ???). So how did they get on this list? And who is Lindsey Stirling?

In other news, the event saw a „live performance“ by Michael Jackson. It sounds like a crazy idea, but they really did it: the hologram of Jackson was somehow inserted in a stage performance for his track „Slave To The Rhythm“ which is part of the „Xscape“ album that is out now. An amazing technical achievement. Can’t figure out how they did this. See it for yourself:
