The latest music streaming portal has launched yesterday: Beats Music is here and will compete with established services like Spotify, iTunes Radio, Pandora etc. in the future. For US$ 10 per month, you can listen to every music available, but the difference is not the music catalogue as it’s the same catalogue like any other streaming service. What makes it new is that Beats Music brings a better sense and brain to the discovery process, focussing not on what you are listening to at the moment, but what you will listen next. Or as it’s stated in their blog:
„We wanted to build a music service that combined the freedom of an on-demand subscription service – unlimited, uninterrupted streaming and downloads of tens of millions of songs – but layer on top features that would give you that feeling only music that moves you can give. The right song at the right time will give you a chill. Make you pull someone close. Nod your head. Sing in the mirror. Roll down the car window and crank the volume to the right.“
Beats Music is the creation of Jimmy Iovine, Trent Reznor, Ian Rogers, Luke Wood and Dr. Dre. It’s only available in the US for its launch, but prepare for expanding to Europe very soon.
